Top 5 Wholesale Clothing Markets in Ho Chi Minh City for Boutique Owners (2026 Guide)

If you are planning a sourcing trip to Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is one of the places worth researching before you travel. The city has several markets where buyers can explore ready-made clothing, fabrics, accessories and other fashion-related products.

This guide was originally published in August 2026 based on market research and information collected while planning our Vietnam trip. After completing our family trip to Vietnam in September 2026, I added a separate first-hand experience update based on the markets we personally visited.

This distinction is important because prices, stock, supplier availability and market conditions can change.

1. Tan Binh Market (Chợ Tân Bình)

Location: Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City

Known for: Ready-made garments, casual wear, T-shirts, men's clothing, women's clothing and mass-market fashion.

Tan Binh Market is one of the major wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City and is worth researching if you are looking for clothing in larger quantities.

For boutique owners and small retailers, one advantage of visiting a wholesale market is that you can compare several sellers, designs, fabrics and prices in one place.

What to Check at Tan Binh Market

  • Ladies' clothing

  • Men's clothing

  • Children's clothing

  • T-shirts and casual wear

  • Seasonal garments

  • Different sizes and colour options

  • Minimum order quantities

  • Wholesale prices for larger quantities

Sourcing Tip

Do not judge a product only by the first price quoted. Compare similar items from several stalls and ask about quantity-based pricing.

Communication can sometimes be easier with translation apps. Keeping Zalo available can also be useful because many Vietnamese businesses use it for communication.

2. An Dong Market & An Dong Plaza

Location: An Duong Vuong Street, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City

Known for: Women's fashion, dresses, boutique-style garments, fabrics and fashion-related products.

An Dong is another well-known clothing and fashion market in Ho Chi Minh City. The traditional market and the nearby An Dong Plaza offer different types of shopping experiences.

It can be useful for buyers who are looking for more fashion-focused designs and want to compare different styles and price levels.

What to Check at An Dong

  • Women's dresses

  • Fashion tops

  • Boutique-style clothing

  • Fabrics

  • Fashion accessories

  • Quality and finishing

  • Wholesale quantities

Sourcing Tip

Prices can vary considerably between stalls and products. Always compare the fabric, stitching, finishing and final wholesale price before deciding whether an item suits your target market.

3. Binh Tay Market (Chợ Bình Tây)

Location: Thap Muoi Street, District 6, Ho Chi Minh City

Known for: Fabrics, textiles, accessories, children's products and other wholesale merchandise.

Binh Tay Market is located in the Cho Lon area and is a large traditional market with many different types of products.

For clothing businesses, it can be particularly interesting if you are looking beyond finished garments and want to explore fabrics, accessories and other materials.

Sourcing Tip

The market can be busy, so visiting earlier in the day may make it easier to walk around, compare products and speak with sellers.

If you are buying fabrics or materials, check quality carefully and ask about quantity-based pricing before placing a larger order.

4. Saigon Square

Location: Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City

Known for: Fashion clothing, sportswear, trendy apparel and various retail and wholesale-style products.

Saigon Square has a different atmosphere from traditional wholesale markets. It is more like a covered shopping centre, with many stalls selling fashion products.

For buyers interested in modern styles and fashion trends, it can be useful for product research and price comparison.

Sourcing Tip

Because of its central location and retail-style environment, do not assume that the first quoted price is the wholesale price. If you are purchasing several pieces, clearly explain that you are buying for resale and ask about the price for multiple pieces.

5. Fabric Markets and Wholesale Streets Around Tan Binh

Location: Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City

Known for: Fabrics, cotton, linen, silk, garment materials and tailoring supplies.

If you are planning to manufacture your own clothing rather than simply purchase ready-made garments, the fabric markets around Tan Binh can be worth exploring.

You can compare different fabrics, colours, prints and materials before deciding what works for your collection.

Sourcing Tip

Before purchasing fabric in bulk, ask for a sample or swatch whenever possible. Check the material, thickness, colour, shrinkage and overall quality before placing a large order.

September 2026 Update: Our First-Hand Experience at Tan Binh and An Dong

The information above was originally researched and published in August 2026 while I was planning our Vietnam trip.

In September 2026, our family of eight travelled to Ho Chi Minh City, and I personally visited An Dong Market and Tan Binh Market to research clothing sourcing for our business in India.

This gave me an opportunity to compare what I had researched before the trip with what I actually saw at the markets.

Our Experience at Tan Binh Market

During our visit, Tan Binh Market was particularly useful for understanding the type of wholesale clothing available and how the pricing worked for buyers interested in resale.

We looked at different categories of clothing and spoke with sellers to understand quantities, designs and prices.

One thing I noticed was that Tan Binh felt more practical for the type of wholesale sourcing we were researching for a smaller-city retail market in India.

We also saw men's pre-winter clothing being offered in quantity-based sets. Some sellers were discussing quantities such as 100–200 pieces, depending on the product.

However, I did not purchase stock during this visit because the final landed cost, after considering transportation and other expenses, needed to make sense for our target market in India.

That is an important lesson for anyone planning a sourcing trip: a low wholesale price does not automatically mean a profitable product.

Our Experience at An Dong Market

We also visited An Dong Market and compared it with Tan Binh.

An Dong had a different feel, with more fashion-focused and boutique-style products available in many stalls.

However, for our particular sourcing requirement, we found that some of the products and prices were not as practical for the smaller-city retail market we were targeting.

This does not mean An Dong is unsuitable for every buyer. A boutique serving a different customer segment may find products there that fit its market much better.

Tan Binh vs An Dong: What We Found

After visiting both markets ourselves, our practical impression was:

Tan Binh: More suitable for buyers looking for practical wholesale clothing and price-sensitive sourcing.

An Dong: More suitable to explore if you are looking for fashion-focused or boutique-style products and are prepared for different price levels.

The right market ultimately depends on your product category, target customers, order quantity and expected selling price.

Important Things to Check Before Buying Wholesale Clothing

Whether you visit Tan Binh, An Dong or another market, do not purchase only because a product looks attractive.

Before placing an order, check:

  • Fabric quality

  • Stitching and finishing

  • Sizes available

  • Colour options

  • Minimum order quantity

  • Price for different quantities

  • Packaging

  • Supplier contact details

  • Availability of invoices or purchase documents

  • Shipping and cargo charges

  • Customs and import costs

  • Your final landed cost in India

Your actual business cost is not just the market price.

Landed cost = Product cost + local transport + packing + freight/cargo + applicable customs duties/taxes + clearance and other logistics costs.

Remember that visa rules, hotel prices, insurance terms, shipping costs and import requirements can change, so always check the latest information before making travel or business decisions.

Communication and Payment Tips

Vietnamese is the main local language, so translation apps can be helpful when communicating with sellers.

Zalo is also widely used in Vietnam for business communication, so having it available can be useful when suppliers want to share product photos or contact details.

For payments, Vietnamese Dong (VND) is commonly used in local markets. Carrying some local currency can make small purchases and price comparisons easier.

For larger commercial transactions, keep proper purchase records and confirm payment arrangements with the supplier before sending money.

Is Ho Chi Minh City Good for Wholesale Clothing Sourcing?

Ho Chi Minh City can be an interesting sourcing destination for boutique owners, clothing retailers, online sellers and businesses researching Vietnamese fashion products.

However, there is no single market that is automatically right for every buyer.

Your decision should depend on:

  • Your target customer

  • Product category

  • Budget

  • Order quantity

  • Quality requirements

  • Selling price in your home market

  • Shipping and import costs

My own September 2026 visit also showed me why visiting a market personally can be different from researching it online. Product availability, pricing and the overall market experience are much easier to understand when you see the products and speak with sellers yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which wholesale clothing market should I visit first in Ho Chi Minh City?

It depends on what you are sourcing. Tan Binh can be useful for buyers looking for practical wholesale clothing and price comparison, while An Dong is worth exploring for fashion-focused and boutique-style products.

Is Tan Binh Market suitable for small clothing businesses?

It can be useful for small businesses that want to compare wholesale products and quantities. However, always ask the seller about the minimum quantity and price for your specific order.

Is An Dong Market expensive?

Prices vary by product, quality, seller and quantity. During our September 2026 visit, we found that some products were less practical for our particular smaller-city retail market compared with what we were looking for at Tan Binh.

Can I buy clothes in Vietnam and bring them to India?

Small personal purchases and commercial importing are different situations. If you are purchasing clothing for resale in India, check the applicable Indian import, customs, tax and documentation requirements before placing a commercial order.

Should I visit the market before placing a large order?

If possible, visiting personally can help you inspect fabric quality, stitching, sizes, designs, supplier reliability and actual prices before committing to a larger order.

Final Thoughts

Ho Chi Minh City has several markets that can be useful for clothing sourcing, but the right choice depends on your business model and target customers.

I originally researched these markets while planning our Vietnam trip in August 2026. After visiting Tan Binh and An Dong personally in September 2026, I found that the real market experience added an important practical perspective that is difficult to understand from online research alone.

If you are planning a Vietnam sourcing trip, research the markets before travelling, compare several suppliers, calculate your complete landed cost and avoid placing a large order before you are confident about quality and demand.
